I think I've found my favorite time of year in Moscow. The weather has been amazing the last few days, bright and sunny and beautiful. I'm noticing things that I've never seen here before. Beds of flowers around the city - bulbs sprouting, patches of pansies.
Liliana has been sick though, so we've mostly been inside. BUT, the treat we had this afternoon was worth the wait. I took Liliana to a nearby botanical garden that my friend, Angelique, has been telling me about. The whole of me was singing it was so wonderful. I am a nut for tulips and this place was crawling with the first ones of spring. It felt as beautiful as seeing the tulip fields in Washington. Finding such amazing beauty not only in the city but so close by was much more than I had expected. To give some perspective, this was us outside four weeks ago! To top it off, there are a few cafes around the perimeter where we can (and will) stop to enjoy some tea or food outside. I expect you'll find me here most days from now until it gets to cold in...oh who wants to think about that... :)

Sooo beautiful...the flower, trees AND Liliana.
YES! We've had the enormous blessing not only to adopt our beloved children from Russia, but also to do it, three times at least - in SPRING! And, that is precisely the word I used - "it was like heaven". Quite honestly the happiest days of my life have been in Russia in the springtime.
